Scorched WIP
One of my passions is blending writing and drawing, so I've decided to dive into creating a webtoon for my Master's Project. It's still a work in progress, but here's what I've got so far.
Imagine a world in chaos, split into three distinct zones. Picture this: the outermost area, named Hell, where the ground literally burns due to methane gas. People live underground in Hives to escape the scorching heat and bad air quality. With no clear laws, gangs run rampant, imposing their rule wherever they go.
Next up is The Ring, just next to Hell. Here, folks live above ground where the air's not as toxic, but fires are still a constant threat. Gangs also call the shots in this part of the world.
Then there's The Dome, the ultimate dream for many—a paradise enclosed in a massive glass bubble. Entry isn't easy, and there are secrets lurking beneath its pristine exterior.
The story centers on Johnny, a guy with a knack for getting attached to things and a heart of gold, despite his ADHD quirks. His life took a turn when his older sister disappeared, leaving him to face nasty rumors that made him an outcast even among outcasts.
Enter Marc, Johnny's childhood friend turned maybe-enemy. Marc lost his sister too, under similarly mysterious circumstances. Fueled by revenge, he trained with a gang, balancing rationality with impulsive bursts of anger. Oh, and he's a bit of a flirt and a troublemaker.
Their paths collide again when Marc shows up at Johnny's Hive with a wild proposal: escape to The Dome. Johnny jumps at the chance, but their journey reveals shocking truths. Plans go haywire, and amidst the chaos, they uncover the biggest surprise of all—Johnny's long-lost sister might still be alive somewhere in The Ring.
And he is hell bend on finding her, to Marc's blessing in disguise.
